Urgent Need for Preemptive Prevention and Recovery Systems
Uiseong County in Gyeongbuk held a special lecture for county office employees to strengthen its wildfire response capabilities.
A special lecture on wildfire prevention is being given to about 600 employees of Uiseong County, Gyeongbuk.
Uiseong County announced that on May 1, a special lecture on "Wildfire Prevention and Damage Recovery" was held at the Uiseong Culture Center for about 600 employees.
The lecture was conducted by Professor Lee Yeon, an expert in the field of disaster management. Professor Lee highlighted the increasing trend of large-scale wildfires due to climate change and emphasized the need for a systematic and scientific response system.
The lecture covered four main topics: climate change and large-scale disasters, wildfire damage and disaster warning delivery systems, disaster recovery system development, and the necessity of introducing overseas case studies and new technologies.
Professor Lee stressed, "Wildfires are disasters that are difficult to recover from in a short period of time," and added, "Above all, it is important to establish a preemptive system based on science and technology."
Kim Jusu, the governor of Uiseong County, stated, "Wildfires are more than just natural disasters; they have a serious impact on the lives of our residents and the local economy. I hope this lecture will raise employees' awareness and serve as an opportunity to reaffirm their sense of responsibility for the safety of the community."
