Cooperation for Meal Management Support at Senior Centers
and Promotion of Users' Health
The Busanjin-gu Children's Social Welfare Meal Management Support Center, operated by the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Youngdo), signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for mutual cooperation with the Busanjin-gu branch of the Korea Senior Citizens Association on the 28th.

This agreement was established to support social welfare facilities (senior centers) in Busanjin-gu, where meal management is vulnerable, with the aim of promoting the health and improving the quality of life of senior citizens. Based on their expertise, the two organizations will jointly promote matters necessary for meal hygiene and nutrition management, and plan to actively contribute to the improvement of community welfare.
Han Jinsook, head of the center, stated, "We will strive to improve the dietary habits of senior citizens by providing systematic hygiene, safety, and nutrition management and educational support by professional nutritionists."
An Namyeon, president of the branch, also said, "We hope that this agreement will provide practical help in enhancing the health and meal quality of senior citizens in Busanjin-gu."
Established in June 2012 as the first of its kind in Busan, the Busanjin-gu Children's Social Welfare Meal Management Support Center has been supporting hygiene, nutrition, and safety management for children's meal facilities in Busanjin-gu. Since July 2022, it has expanded its scope to include meal management support for social welfare facilities such as those for the elderly and people with disabilities.
