Seoul National University announced on the 3rd that Professor Ilkwon Park of the Department of Agricultural and Forest Biological Resources, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, has received the 13th Songjeong Entomology Award.
Professor Ilkwon Park is taking a commemorative photo after receiving an award at the "2025 Spring Academic Conference jointly hosted by the Korean Society of Applied Entomology and the Korean Entomological Society," held at Sono Calm Vivaldi Park at the end of last month. Seoul National University
The Songjeong Entomology Award is a prestigious honor presented biennially to mid-career entomologists. The award comprehensively evaluates not only research achievements in the field of entomology, but also social contributions and impact made through such research.
Professor Park has conducted leading research in the fields of forest insects and insect chemical ecology, and has served as an advisory committee member for various national research institutions.
Since 2022, Professor Park has been selected for three consecutive years as one of the world's top 2% researchers (in the field of entomology) based on the SCOPUS database, a renowned international academic index.
Professor Park stated, "This award is thanks to my colleagues and students who have conducted research together with me," and added, "I will continue to work harder for the advancement of forest protection and entomology."
