Hanwha Aerospace, Hanwha Systems, and Hanwha Ocean announced on May 2 that they participated in 'Korea Defense Day 2025,' held in Santiago, Chile, where they showcased major product lines tailored to the local market.
This event was a defense exhibition jointly organized by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Chile. It was held on April 28 (local time) to support domestic defense companies in exploring overseas markets.
With 'K-Defense' attracting global attention, the exhibition was attended by key officials from the Chilean Ministry of Defense, as well as the Army, Navy, Air Force, and police.
Hanwha Aerospace, which is preparing to participate in the Chilean Army's wheeled armored vehicle project, exhibited its independently developed 'Tigon Wheeled Armored Vehicle,' highlighting its excellent performance and quality, rapid delivery, and reliable follow-up logistics support. Hanwha Aerospace offers a variety of wheeled armored vehicle solutions, including 8x8, 6x6, and 4x4 models, enabling it to address security issues within Chile and meet the military's needs for armored vehicle replacement.
The Chilean military also showed significant interest in ground weapon systems such as the K9 Self-Propelled Howitzer, K10 Armored Ammunition Resupply Vehicle, and Cheonmu Multiple Launch Rocket System.
Hanwha Systems introduced its small Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite, satellite imagery, and analysis solutions, exploring potential cooperation in the Chilean Air Force's national space program (SNSAT).
Hanwha Ocean presented its export-oriented submarine based on the Jangbogo-III class and next-generation frigates equipped with advanced technologies, actively expressing its intention to participate in the Chilean Navy's next-generation warship acquisition project.
A Hanwha representative stated, "The three defense affiliates will use Chile as a strategic base to meet diverse demands in Central and South America, seeking opportunities for strategic partnerships as a 'total defense solution provider.'"
