First Overseas Launch of "Nojunogyo" by China's Largest Baijiu Producer
Debut Sale Outside China
Hitejinro announced on May 2 that it will launch "Nojunogyo Black," a product from China's leading baijiu producer Nojunogyo, for the first time in Korea. This marks the first overseas sale of the product outside of China.
Nojunogyo is a major state-owned distillery with a 700-year history, located in Luzhou, Sichuan Province, the birthplace of China's famous spirits. The company released its "strong-aroma" baijiu in 1573 and is regarded as the originator of strong-aroma baijiu in China, possessing the "pit" (fermentation pits made by mixing loess and water) that has been used since then.

Strong-aroma baijiu is the most preferred aroma type among consumers, known for its distinctive sweet fruity scent and smooth finish. It accounts for more than 70% of the overall baijiu market share. The aroma of strong-aroma baijiu is determined by the abundant microorganisms in the fermentation pits; the older the pit, the better the aroma of the baijiu produced.
Nojunogyo Black, which Hitejinro is launching this time, is an entry-level product from Nojunogyo. It is brewed using high-quality sorghum carefully selected from Sichuan Province and is made with the "old pit fermentation method," one of the traditional baijiu production techniques, where the liquor is aged and fermented in pits for 90 days. Made from 100% pure grains, it features a clean taste, deep flavor, and a soft, sweet fruity aroma. It has an alcohol content of 42% and is available in three sizes: 125ml, 250ml, and 500ml.
Yoo Taeyoung, Executive Director at Hitejinro, said, "Nojunogyo is a renowned baijiu distillery in China, with both its brewing facilities and techniques designated as national treasures. It is especially meaningful for Hitejinro to be the first to sell Nojunogyo Black, a value-for-money product focused on quality, in the overseas market."
