Ministry of Culture to Host Comprehensive Hallyu Festival 'MyK FESTA' in June

June 19-22 at KSPO Dome and Throughout the Olympic Park Area

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange, announced on May 1 that it will host the large-scale comprehensive Hallyu festival '2025 MyK FESTA' from June 19 to 22. The event will take place at KSPO Dome (formerly Olympic Gymnastics Arena), the Handball Stadium, and other venues throughout the Olympic Park area, bringing together domestic and international Hallyu fans, as well as stakeholders from the K-content and related industries.


On the first day of the festival, June 19, a spectacular concert featuring popular K-pop artists such as WayV, Lee Youngji, aespa, ILLIT, Hearts2Hearts, and Ahchop will mark the opening of the festivities at KSPO Dome. On June 21, ITZY, Chungha, Heize, Lyn, Lee Mujin, and B.O will take the stage to continue the excitement of the opening performance. On June 22, audiences can enjoy performances by traditional Korean music groups recognized internationally, such as Akdangwangchil and Yuhuiska.


An international conference will be held on June 20. Top domestic and international experts in the content and related industries?including Mike Van, CEO of Billboard; Daniel Jin, Head of Marketing for Visa Asia-Pacific; Choi Jongil, CEO of ICONIX; and Lee Youngah, CSO of Olive Young?will discuss the growth potential of the content industry and its expansion into related sectors.

Exhibitions and hands-on experiences for Hallyu fans will also be available. At the Handball Stadium (June 19-22), more than 100 domestic companies representing Hallyu and related industries?including music, drama, webtoons, food, and lifestyle?will showcase their content and products, with booths for visitors to experience them firsthand. There will also be talk concerts featuring celebrities and industry experts, as well as drama production presentations. A K-food pop-up store will introduce the flavors of Korea to international tourists.


The event will also support Korean companies seeking to expand overseas. At Hanuel Square in Olympic Park, business consultations will be held between more than 200 domestic companies aiming to enter global markets and over 100 international buyers.


Efforts will be made to attract foreign tourists and revitalize regional tourism through cooperation with local governments. The 'MyK FESTA' will be promoted at Hallyu events hosted by four local governments?Busan (May 30-31), Cheonan (June 4-8), Gyeongju (June 7-8), and Yeosu (June 13-15)?and travel packages linking local events with 'MyK FESTA' will be developed to boost regional tourism.

Yoon Yangsu, Director General for International Cultural Promotion Policy at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated, "Hallyu has now expanded beyond popular culture into various industries, creating a large international fandom and leading global cultural and consumer trends. We hope that this event will encourage many Hallyu fans to visit Korea and further broaden the reach of Hallyu, thereby enhancing its industrial value."
