On May 1, Jeonnam Province held a commencement meeting for the 'Jeonnam K-Food Recipe Development and Commercialization Service' at the provincial government office, attended by food experts and others. During the meeting, participants discussed strategies to foster Jeonnam-style K-Food that inherits the traditional culinary culture of the Namdo region.

This service aims to develop distinctive Jeonnam K-Food recipes based on the abundant agricultural, marine, and livestock products produced in Jeonnam. In addition, the province plans to commercialize these recipes and pioneer both domestic and international markets to promote food tourism and strengthen the competitiveness of the local food industry.

The main tasks of the service include: ▲ developing new Jeonnam K-Food recipes using local specialty products, ▲ creating recipes to popularize Namdo traditional cuisine, and ▲ establishing strategies for commercializing Jeonnam K-Food recipes and building domestic and overseas distribution networks.

Jeonnam has long been recognized as the birthplace of rich and diverse flavors, rooted in tradition and utilizing a wide variety of ingredients, and is known as the origin of unique dishes.

Based on this, the province will conduct in-depth analyses of food trends among various consumer groups and develop Jeonnam-style K-Food that incorporates Namdo traditions, with the goal of commercializing these products.

The Jeonnam K-Food developed through this initiative will be publicly evaluated at the 2025 Namdo International Gastronomy Industry Expo, which will be held in Mokpo from October 1 to 26.

The province also aims to collaborate with top chefs and food and tourism experts to create storytelling content, with the goal of developing Jeonnam K-Food that can enter the global market.

Lee Sangsim, Director of Health and Welfare at Jeonnam Province, stated, "We will work to ensure that Jeonnam-style K-Food, utilizing the province's agricultural, marine, and livestock specialty products, leads Jeonnam's food tourism."
