[Breaking] Kim Moonsoo on Supreme Court Remand: "Lee Jaemyung Should Withdraw Candidacy If He Has Any Conscience"

"A Ruling Confirming That Judicial Justice Is Still Alive"
"If You Try to Deceive With Lies, the People Will Judge You"

Kim Moonsoo, former Minister of Employment and Labor and a presidential primary candidate for the People Power Party, emphasized on May 1 that "if there is even a shred of conscience left, Lee Jaemyung should withdraw from his candidacy immediately," in response to the Supreme Court's decision to overturn and remand the conviction of Lee Jaemyung, former leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, for violating the Public Official Election Act.

On this day, Kim stated in a press release, "This ruling confirms that judicial justice is still alive in the Republic of Korea."

Kim criticized, "Candidate Lee Jaemyung has never once reflected on his wrongdoing, and has only sought to deceive the people by piling lie upon lie in an attempt to escape responsibility. While he claims to be 'confident of his innocence,' he has used every trick to repeatedly delay the trial."

Calling for Lee's resignation, Kim said, "That would be the minimum duty owed to the people. If he continues to deceive the public with shallow lies, the people themselves will judge him."

On this day, the Supreme Court's Grand Bench, presided over by Justice Park Youngjae, overturned the lower court's acquittal of Lee and remanded the case to the Seoul High Court. The presiding judge is Chief Justice Cho Heedae.
