Opening Ceremony to Be Held on May 3
From Small Business Product Sales to Performances
Plenty of Entertainment Throughout the Holiday Period
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that it will hold the opening ceremony for the "May Together Festival" at the Sejong Central Park Urban Festival Square on May 3.
This event serves as the official kickoff for the "May Together Festival," which will run for a month starting from May 1. Ministries, local governments, and small business owners have worked together to prepare a vibrant celebration in Sejong from May 2 to May 4.
The festival will feature a wide array of attractions, including a marketplace with 300 flagship products from the Together Festival, regional specialty goods, and discounted seafood sales. There will also be children's play facilities, hands-on activities, and concerts, making it a festival full of entertainment for everyone.
At the Together Product Experience Center, visitors can view and try out 300 outstanding products from small business owners representing the festival, and purchase them online using QR codes. Among these, products from 15 companies will be available for direct purchase on-site.
More than 20 outstanding small business owners from the Daejeon and Sejong regions will participate, offering a variety of products such as food, clothing, toys, and household goods at reasonable prices. In collaboration with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, the seafood market operated by the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives and the Korea Fisheries Association will allow visitors to taste and purchase fresh seafood. Additionally, 20 food trucks affiliated with the Sejong Small Business Association will join the event.
The "Mutual Growth Receipt Concert" will also take place, where a receipt from an on-site purchase of small business products serves as an admission ticket. On May 2, Hajin, Kyungseo, and Jung Seungwon will perform, while the opening ceremony on May 3 will feature Lee Mujin, Jo Jazz, Jung Dongha, and Kassy, who are expected to deliver passionate performances.
For families visiting the marketplace with children, there will be play facilities and hands-on activities, as well as a variety of events such as a roulette game, bubble show, and balloon show, all continuing throughout May 3.
Anticipating a large turnout, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups has prepared thorough safety management measures to ensure that all visitors can enjoy the festival safely.
Minister Oh Youngju of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups stated, "The Together Festival is an opportunity to widely promote the hidden gem-like products of lesser-known small business owners," and added, "I urge all citizens to show great interest and participate in the Together Festival to provide strong support and encouragement to small business owners, who are our neighbors."
