Guro District Offers Multiple Filing Methods Including Online, Mobile, ARS, and In-Person
Filing and Payment Available Until June 2
Guro District (District Mayor Jang Inhong) announced that it will be accepting filings and payments for the 2024 comprehensive income tax and individual local income tax from May 1 to June 2, 2025.
The comprehensive income tax is a tax paid to the national government on income earned by individuals over the course of a year, while the individual local income tax is paid to the local government on the same income.
Taxpayers who earned income in 2024 must file and pay both taxes during the designated period.
Filings can be conveniently made online through the National Tax Service's Hometax system or via the Sontax mobile application. Once the comprehensive income tax filing is completed, the system is automatically linked to Wetax, allowing taxpayers to file and pay the individual local income tax as well.
Taxpayers who received the "Pre-filled Notification" from the National Tax Service and have no changes to report can easily file the comprehensive income tax by using the automated response telephone service. For the individual local income tax, payment to the virtual account specified in the notification will be recognized as a valid filing.
For taxpayers who need to file in person, the district will operate a filing desk in the multipurpose conference room on the second floor of the district office main building from May 1 to June 2, 2025. Taxpayers must bring a valid ID when visiting.
Detailed filing instructions can be found on the Guro District Office website. For inquiries, contact the Guro District Office Local Income Tax Division, the Local Income Tax Call Center, or the National Tax Service Comprehensive Income Tax Consultation Center.
A Guro District official stated, "On the deadline of June 2, access to Hometax may be delayed, so we recommend completing your filing and payment within May if possible. Please note that late filings may result in penalties or other disadvantages, so we strongly urge you to file and pay within the designated period."
