Request for Ingredient Analysis of Chocolate by the National Forensic Service
A middle school student was taken to the emergency room after complaining of abdominal pain caused by eating chocolate distributed by a person engaged in missionary activities on the streets of Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, prompting a police investigation.
According to the Incheon Yeonsu Police Station on April 30, at around 5:40 p.m. that day, a first-year middle school student, referred to as A, complained of abdominal pain and was transported to a general hospital emergency room after eating chocolate handed out as part of a church promotion on the streets of Okryeon-dong, Yeonsu-gu.
A's father reported to the police, saying, "My child ate chocolate given by someone on the way home from school and is now complaining of abdominal pain." In response to the report, the police requested the National Forensic Service to analyze the ingredients of the chocolate that A had partially consumed.
The police are reviewing nearby closed-circuit (CC) TV footage, and if harmful substances are detected in the chocolate analysis, they plan to identify the person who distributed the chocolate.
