NSE&M, a comprehensive entertainment company, is set to strengthen its network for activities in North America in earnest.
On April 30, NSE&M announced that it plans to appoint Changjun Kim, chairman of the Hanmi Research Institute, as an outside director at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders scheduled for May 30.
Chairman Changjun Kim is well-known for accurately predicting the victory of Donald Trump in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. He became the first Korean American to be elected to the U.S. House of Representatives (Republican) in 1993 and served three consecutive terms. In 2016, he published a book titled "Prepare for President Trump." The company explained that he has played a pivotal role in private diplomacy and economic exchanges between Korea and the United States and has made significant contributions to helping Korean companies enter the North American market.
NSE&M expects that bringing Chairman Changjun Kim on board will create significant synergy in the global K-pop sector, especially as its wholly owned subsidiary, Massive VNC, prepares for the debut and North American activities of its girl group, Ablume. Ablume is scheduled to release its first single album, "Echo," at 12:00 p.m. on June 9.
Chairman Changjun Kim will visit Korea from May 15 to May 24 in cooperation with the U.S. Association of Former Members of Congress (FMC). The FMC delegation is expected to engage not only in official meetings with the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but also to communicate with professionals from various sectors, including business leaders, heads of organizations, and schools.
A company representative stated, "FMC is an organization equipped with an infrastructure that includes both current and former members of the U.S. Congress, as well as senior aides and lawyers, making it the most effective group for playing a role in private diplomacy across a wide range of fields. Based on its extensive political and economic network and experience in the United States, it is expected to provide practical advice and support for Ablume's entry into the North American market."
Byungcheol Ko, CEO of NSE&M, said, "With the appointment of Chairman Changjun Kim, the company's status and credibility in the global entertainment market will be further enhanced. In particular, we expect strategic advice and network support for Ablume's entry into the U.S. and global activities."
