Gokseong County in South Jeolla Province, led by Governor Cho Sangrae, held the 2nd progress report meeting on the 29th for the "15th Gokseong World Rose Festival," accelerating preparations for the event scheduled to take place at Gokseong Seomjingang Train Village from May 16 to 25.

This year's World Rose Festival is themed "All Day Rose," meaning a day colored by roses. "All Day Rose" aims to offer visitors special memories by showcasing the brilliance of roses during the day and the charm of roses illuminated by lights at night.

To create a splendid and moving atmosphere where the beauty of roses continues throughout the day, the opening ceremony this year has been rescheduled from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The festival will feature expanded central stage and rose park night programs, such as the All Day Busking in the Rose Park, Rose OST Music Camp, and Rose Cinema, providing a rich array of content for both day and night. Additionally, various nightscapes, including rose gobo lighting within the Train Village, will be installed to create attractive photo zones.

In particular, the festival plans to broaden opportunities for direct participation and enjoyment, rather than simply viewing, by establishing a pop-up store for "Rosy Friends," the festival’s official character created through a Korea Tourism Organization contest last year, and by organizing various visitor participation events utilizing this character.

This year, local residents’ participation will be further expanded, with about 200 residents joining the opening parade, "All Day Rose Parade & Fashion Show," which will serve as the opening performance of the festival. The Gokseong Pungnyu Corner will feature 45 teams and approximately 780 local cultural artists and art organizations. In addition, the Gokseong County Youth Orchestra and singers from Gokseong will also perform on stage.

To efficiently manage the influx of visitors concentrated on weekends and holidays, the county has established thorough parking guidance and traffic control plans and is working closely with relevant agencies such as the police and fire departments to ensure the festival proceeds smoothly without any issues.

Continuing from last year, the festival aims to be eco-friendly by not using disposable products. Reusable containers will be provided in food and beverage areas within the festival grounds, and a collection system will be in place. In particular, measures have been established to prevent price gouging both inside and outside the venue, and a price monitoring team will be operated to ensure price stability.

On the 30th, Governor Cho Sangrae stated, "As a preliminary cultural tourism festival designated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Gokseong World Rose Festival is a festival that can proudly represent anywhere in the country," adding, "This year, with unique content exclusive to the Gokseong World Rose Festival and the interest and efforts of local residents, we will present a festival that brings together the community."
