Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on April 30 that it will extend the operation of the tourist-type DRT (Demand Responsive Transport) service 'Tabayong', which connects major tourist attractions such as the Korean Folk Village with key transportation hubs in the region, for four more months until August.

Yongin City Extends Operation of Tourist DRT 'Tabayong' by Four Months Yongin City operates the tourist-type DRT 'Tabayong'. The city originally planned to end the operation of 'Tabayong' this month but has extended it for four months until August. Provided by Yongin City

In anticipation of an increase in visitors to tourist destinations in Yongin during May, which is Family Month in Korea, the city decided to allocate 200 million won from its own budget to continue the service. Originally, the city had planned to operate the bus only until the end of this month.

Selected as part of a Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism project, Tabayong began its pilot operation in September last year and was converted to a regular service in November of the same year. It has since been recognized as a transportation service that enhances convenience for tourists visiting Yongin.

There are stops at 18 locations, including the Korean Folk Village, Gyeonggi Provincial Museum, Nam June Paik Art Center, Giheung Station, Sanggal Station, and Singal Bus Stop. Passengers can use a mobile application (app) to select their boarding stop and destination, then call a vehicle. The mobile app can be installed by scanning the QR code at the bus stops or by searching for 'Tabayong' or 'Yongin Tourism DRT'.

The fare is 1,450 won for adults, the same as city buses in Gyeonggi Province, and transfer discounts are also available.
