On the afternoon of April 30, the Chungnam Provincial Office of Education held the 2025 "Training Session for Teachers Guiding Plays and Musicals to Foster Proper Character" at the Provincial Education Training Institute. The event was attended by more than 100 participants, including elementary, middle, and high school teacher leaders from the province, as well as members of the theater association.

The training invited Kim Yeonjin, a teacher at Seongnam Techno Science High School and head of training at the Chungnam Educational Theater Association, as the instructor. Kim shared practical know-how, focusing on successful club operation cases and effective strategies for running the Chungnam Student Theater Festival and regional presentation competitions.

Participants then gathered in regional discussion groups to deeply discuss various challenges faced in schools and possible improvements. Local counselors and theater supervisors also took part, providing professional advice and support.

The Chungnam Student Theater Festival, hosted by the Provincial Office of Education, boasts a 27-year history and tradition this year. Thanks to the wealth of experience accumulated over the years and the passion of both teacher leaders and students, the festival has presented high-quality performances that attract nationwide attention every year.

Activities in theater and musical clubs are making significant contributions to creating a positive and happy school culture by providing all students with opportunities to communicate and collaborate through the arts and to grow as the protagonists of their own lives.

The Chungnam Provincial Office of Education continues its efforts to expand students' opportunities for arts education and to create a vibrant school culture by consistently supporting a variety of arts clubs, including student orchestras, choirs, and pungmul (traditional Korean percussion ensembles), in addition to theater and musical clubs.

Kim Hongje, Director of Secondary Education at the Provincial Office of Education, stated, "Arts education centered on collaboration, such as theater and musicals, plays a key role in helping students care for and respect each other and grow as democratic citizens. We will continue our efforts to expand and enhance the quality of arts education in the future."
