For Elementary School Students:
Applications Accepted from June 1 to 23
Jinan County in North Jeolla Province will hold the "2025 Month of Patriots and Veterans Elementary School Student Promotional Poster Contest" in June to commemorate the Month of Patriots and Veterans.
According to the county on April 30, this contest has been organized to honor the sacrifices of patriotic martyrs and to promote the spirit of love for the country. It also aims to foster an awareness of patriotism among elementary school students and to build a sense of empathy.
The contest period will run from June 1 to June 23, and the participants must be elementary school students residing in Jinan County. Entries can be created in any format, including oil painting, watercolor, or crayon drawing, without any restrictions. The required size is either quarter-sheet or B3.
Completed works must be submitted to the Jinan County Department of Social Welfare either by mail or in person. Submitted works will not be returned and may be used in various future events hosted by the county.
The judging panel will consist of heads of local veterans' organizations and relevant public officials. They will select a total of four outstanding works (one grand prize, one excellence award, and two encouragement awards) based on criteria such as factual accuracy, relevance, artistic merit, and promotional value.
Winners will receive the Jinan County Governor's Award, along with local gift certificates as prizes. The grand prize winner will receive 100,000 won, the excellence award winner will receive 70,000 won, and each encouragement award winner will receive 50,000 won. The selected works will be announced after the judging process by June 28, and the award ceremony is scheduled to be held in June.
A county official stated, "We hope that this contest will provide an opportunity for children to reflect on the spirit of sacrifice of our patriotic martyrs and to naturally learn the value of loving our country."
