Global comprehensive entertainment company Blitzway Studio officially changed its name to "Blitzway Entertainment" following a resolution at its regular shareholders' meeting on March 28, 2025, and will accelerate a new strategy centered on artist IP and content production. This change was made to enhance the company's image and diversify its business, as part of a strategy to clarify its identity as a content-driven company.
Blitzway, which has established itself as a global brand in the high-end figure market through sophisticated modeling technology and unique visual capabilities, plans to build a comprehensive entertainment system covering the entire content industry on the foundation of its accumulated brand assets through this name change. The figure business will continue to operate under its existing structure, running alongside the content-focused business.
In particular, amid recent trends such as the potential lifting of the Hallyu ban in China and expanding global demand for K-content, Blitzway Entertainment is strengthening its overseas strategies for both its affiliated actors and original content. The company is seeking to establish an integrated system that organically connects production, management, and global distribution based on artists active in a variety of genres, including dramas, films, and variety shows.
Recently, the global activities of affiliated actors have been especially prominent. Ju Jihoon, who achieved top results both domestically and internationally with the Netflix series "Severe Trauma Center," will continue the momentum by joining the live-action adaptation of "Remarried Empress," a representative Naver Webtoon title with a global cumulative view count of 2.6 billion. Chun Woohee, who simultaneously ranked first and second in Netflix's global rankings with "The 8 Show" and "The Bequeathed," is set to return this fall in the drama "My Youth" alongside Song Joongki. Woo Dohwan is expected to expand his global fanbase with even more refined action and emotional performances in "Bloodhounds" Season 2.
In addition, Blitzway Entertainment's drama production subsidiary, Blitzway Production, is currently planning and developing new works in various genres such as revenge dramas, mysteries, and youth series, together with a team of more than 10 writers including Yoo Bora of "Secret" and Jang Hongcheol of "Class of Lies." Last year, the company demonstrated its production capabilities with tvN's "Love on a Single-log Bridge," and this year, it was selected for a Korea Creative Content Agency support program and will also produce a one-act drama. Furthermore, discussions for joint productions with domestic terrestrial broadcasters and global OTT platforms are actively underway.
Bae Sungwoong, Chairman of the Board of Blitzway Entertainment, stated, "Based on our proven global brand management experience and creative capabilities from the figure business, we will strengthen our competitiveness in the content market, which is centered on stories and characters." He added, "This name change is both a strategic expansion in response to the changing industrial environment and a full-fledged leap toward becoming a content-driven company." He continued, "The existing figure business will maintain its unique identity and operate stably in parallel, and through a new growth model that combines artist IP and original content, we will practically expand our potential in the global market."
