Yeoncheon County in Gyeonggi Province announced on April 30 that it held a kick-off briefing session for the 'Yeoncheon BIX Euntong General Industrial Complex Industrialization Support Center Basic and Detailed Design Service' on April 25 in the situation room on the second floor of the main building. The event was attended by Yeoncheon County Governor Kim Deokhyeon, county council members, heads of relevant departments, green bio experts, and about 20 other participants.
During the kick-off briefing, the design firm Jium Design Architects Co., Ltd., which is in charge of the project, presented the design and detailed spatial layout of the winning entry from the general design competition, as well as the plan for carrying out the service. This was followed by a Q&A session.
The Industrialization Support Center is planned to be built within the Yeoncheon BIX Euntong General Industrial Complex, with a site area of 7,586 square meters, a total floor area of approximately 2,670 square meters, and three stories above ground. The center will serve as a key facility for supporting companies moving into the Yeoncheon BIX Industrial Complex and for sharing, communicating, and disseminating bio-knowledge. It will also play a central role in fostering prospective entrepreneurs and venture companies, and supporting industrialization as part of the green bio cluster.
The basic and detailed design service is scheduled to complete administrative procedures and architectural design by the end of this year, begin construction in the first half of 2026, and complete and open the facility in 2027.
Kim Deokhyeon, Governor of Yeoncheon County, stated, "We will do our utmost to strengthen the competitiveness of companies in this rapidly changing era of industrialization by establishing a cluster base for the green bio industry in northern Gyeonggi and by supporting companies moving into the Yeoncheon BIX Industrial Complex through the Industrialization Support Center."
