On the 30th, Sangim Yoo, Minister of Science and ICT, addressed concerns over the low ceiling for fines despite the leakage of USIM information at SK Telecom, stating, "The losses SKT is currently suffering are far greater than this. It is expected to reach several trillion won."

At the plenary meeting of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee at the National Assembly that morning, Minister Yoo explained the reason for SKT's losses in the trillions of won, saying, "Due to a series of confusing incidents, subscribers are leaving and the stock price is falling."

Previously, Eunjeong Park, a member of the New Reform Party, pointed out, "The Minister of Science and ICT can order corrective actions and impose fines. The maximum is set at 30 million won. Can the Ministry of Science and ICT really resolve the public confusion with just this level of fines?"

Meanwhile, in response to a question about whether the country that attempted the hacking has been identified, Minister Yoo said, "It has not yet been definitively determined."
