Inspection of Fire Safety Facilities in 20 Complexes Covering 16,596 Households
Establishing a Safe Residential Environment Through Regular Inspections and Maintenance
Busan Urban Corporation (BMC, President Shin Changho) announced on April 30 that since February, it has been conducting fire safety inspections on rental facilities under its management.
The fire safety inspections are carried out to check whether fire extinguishing systems, evacuation and rescue systems, and fire-fighting activity equipment in buildings are functioning properly and to identify any abnormalities. The inspections are conducted in two forms: operational inspections and comprehensive inspections.
This year, the inspections will cover 16,596 households in 20 rental apartment complexes, including new complexes such as the Ilgwang Integrated Public Rental Apartment and the Happy Housing Complex 1 in front of City Hall.
To alleviate residents' concerns, BMC stated that any hazards identified during the inspection process that can be immediately addressed will be promptly resolved on site. The corporation also plans to systematically maintain fire safety equipment to ensure immediate response in the event of a fire.
Shin Changho, President of Busan Urban Corporation, said, "Fire safety in public rental housing is a critical issue directly related to citizens' lives," and added, "We will do our utmost to create a safe residential environment through thorough inspections and continuous management."
