Regional Company Interviews and Cultural Experiences
for 10 International Students from Uiduk University
The Yeongdeok County Family Center (Director: Lee Anguk) conducted a local company tour and cultural experience event on April 29 for about 10 foreign exchange students from the International Education Institute at Uiduk University (supervising professor: Kim Myungseok) as part of the region-specific visa program.
The participating students visited local companies seeking to hire employees, observed the workplaces firsthand, and explored employment opportunities through Q&A sessions and interviews with employers. Afterwards, they toured major tourist attractions such as Goraebul Beach and Gwaesi Folk Village, experiencing the culture and nature of Yeongdeok.
Last year, Yeongdeok County linked three international students to local companies through the 'region-specific visa program.' This year, the county is continuing its cooperation with nearby universities, aiming to facilitate employment for about 20 students.
Within this visa program, the 'Outstanding Local Talent Type' supports visa changes for foreigners holding a Study (D-2) or Job-Seeking (D-10) visa who meet the Ministry of Justice's requirements for income, academic background, and Korean language proficiency. The condition is that they reside and work in a depopulated area for five years.
The county family center supports foreigners through the 'Hope Connection Project,' offering industrial site experiences and cultural tours. Even after changing to the relevant visa, the center continues to provide ongoing case management, mentoring, and cultural exchange programs to help them settle stably in the local community.
A representative from the Yeongdeok County Family Center stated, "This project will help increase both the resident and living population of the region, contributing to the revitalization of the local economy," and requested the active participation of local companies employing foreign workers.
