The following is the full text of the Labor Day congratulatory message.
Dear citizens of Changwon and all workers! On the first day of vibrant May, Labor Day, I sincerely extend my heartfelt congratulations, filled with deep respect and gratitude for your sweat and efforts.
It is thanks solely to the dedication and passion of all workers that Changwon has led Korea’s industrialization over the past 50 years and has established itself as the cradle of the machinery industry and defense industry.
Your steady steps toward your workplaces every morning have been the strongest force in laying the foundation of this city and lighting the beacon of hope.
The reason we can dream of the next 50 years for Changwon is also because of your presence.
Changwon Special City will continue to strive to create an environment where the value of labor is respected and where all workers can work with peace of mind.
We will consistently promote policies to create safe working environments and generate jobs, and we will actively support the protection of the rights and interests of workers in vulnerable groups.
We will take the lead in ensuring that workers, employers, citizens, and the administration all come together through cooperation and mutual growth, so that your hard work is rewarded with fulfillment in our society.
In addition, we will stand with workers who have come from other countries, so that they can pursue their Korea Dream here in Changwon.
Once again, on the occasion of Labor Day, I extend my congratulations and gratitude to all of you, and wish your families health and happiness.
Jang Geumyong, Acting Mayor, First Vice Mayor of Changwon Special City
