Hanwha Advanced Materials Receives Special Award for Carbon Management
Hanwha Solutions and Hanwha Advanced Materials have been recognized as outstanding companies in carbon management by the global non-profit organization Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).
On April 30, the two companies announced that at the "2024 CDP Korea Awards" held at the Fairmont Ambassador Seoul Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul, Hanwha Solutions received the "Carbon Management Sector Honors - Raw Materials" award and the "Water Security Excellence Award," while Hanwha Advanced Materials received the "Special Award for Carbon Management."
CDP is a reputable global organization that evaluates companies' responses to environmental issues. The CDP Korea Awards are presented based on evaluation scores in climate change response and water management among major listed companies in Korea.
In this year's assessment, Hanwha Solutions received high marks for its greenhouse gas reduction activities, Scope 3 emissions analysis, and management of climate and water resource risks and opportunities. Hanwha Advanced Materials voluntarily participated in the CDP evaluation, was recognized for its various achievements in carbon management, and received its first award.
Kang Seoklim, Head of the Safety, Health and Environment Office at Hanwha Solutions, said, "In response to the escalating climate crisis, we aim to contribute to a sustainable future society by implementing various carbon emission reduction measures and practicing water conservation."
