Bando Construction announced on April 30 that it held an awards ceremony with the companies that won the 2nd Bando Technology Competition, which was held in December of last year.
The Bando Technology Competition, now in its second year, was launched by Bando Construction to promote mutually beneficial management with small and medium-sized enterprises that possess outstanding technological capabilities but face difficulties in securing development capital and resources. A total of 10 companies participated in this year's competition, submitting entries in the fields of smart construction, smart safety, and construction execution·process·quality.
The entries from the 10 participating companies were evaluated fairly and transparently based on criteria such as creativity, economic feasibility, practicality, sustainability, and effort. The judging panel included key department heads responsible for major construction processes at Bando Construction, as well as Lee Jeongryeol, head of the construction division at Bando Construction.
One company was selected for the Grand Prize, and two companies received Excellence Awards. The Grand Prize went to Gwanglim Sensortech for its "Smart Water Level Indicator and Controller," submitted in the smart construction category. The Excellence Awards were given to Lastmile and Hankwang Information & Communications, both for their entries in the smart construction category. The Grand Prize included a reward of 10 million KRW, while each Excellence Award came with a reward of 5 million KRW, and all winners were also given the opportunity to participate in official partner registration bids.
Lee stated, "Through this competition, we plan to pursue joint technology development with small and medium-sized enterprises to help strengthen their competitiveness," adding, "Furthermore, we will take the lead in creating better residential spaces by applying the developed construction technologies on-site."
