Hana Bank announced on April 30 that it had signed a business agreement with the Korea Basketball Association at its Euljiro headquarters in Seoul to officially sponsor the South Korean national basketball team.
This agreement is an extension of Hana Bank's ongoing support for both men's and women's professional basketball, including the operation of the Hana Bank Women's Professional Basketball Team and sponsorship of the Korea Gas Corporation Pegasus professional basketball team. The initiative aims to strengthen the competitiveness of Korean basketball and broaden its base.
Through this agreement, Hana Bank and the Korea Basketball Association will support the stable operation of the national team and strengthen cooperation to nurture youth players and expand the basketball fan base. In particular, starting with the men's national basketball team evaluation match scheduled for July, they plan to launch a variety of events and campaigns to engage more closely with domestic basketball fans.
Lee Hosung, CEO of Hana Bank, stated, "It is very meaningful that Hana Bank's longstanding commitment to the growth and expansion of Korean basketball has culminated in the sponsorship of the South Korean national basketball team. Through this agreement, as a first step toward strengthening the competitiveness of Korean basketball, Hana Bank will provide unwavering support so that national team players can perform at their best in an optimal environment and shine on bigger stages."
Kwon Hyukwoon, President of the Korea Basketball Association, responded, "I would like to express my deep gratitude for Hana Bank's wholehearted support for the national team, and I expect that this partnership will be a great boost for the future of Korean basketball."
Meanwhile, Hana Bank has been continuously working to develop and expand the base of sports culture in South Korea. The bank sponsors the Korea Football Association and the K League, hosts KPGA and KLPGA golf tournaments, and provides broad support for less popular sports such as Baduk and luge, thereby contributing to the development of domestic sports. Hana Bank plans to continue supporting various fields as a reliable partner for the future of Korean sports.
