Sales to Foreign Visitors to Begin Next Month
You can enjoy everything from Deoksugung Palace and the Namsan Cable Car to Myeongdong desserts and hanbok experiences at Namsangol Hanok Village?all with a single mobile ticket. On April 30, Jung-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Kim Gilseong) announced that it has officially launched the 'Seoul Jung-gu Tour Pass,' the first of its kind among Seoul's autonomous districts, starting from April 28.
The Tour Pass is a mobile ticket that provides access to 22 free-use facilities and 18 special discount partner locations. It covers major attractions such as the Namsan Cable Car, Deoksugung Palace, and the Teteru Museum, as well as a variety of food destinations like Taegukdang, Sindang-dong Tteokbokki, and Cafe Coin. In addition, it offers discounts on performances at the National Jeongdong Theater, hanbok rentals, and pottery-making experiences, allowing visitors to enjoy a wide range of experiential content. Tourists can choose and enjoy according to their preferences.
Jung-gu conducted a pilot operation of the Tour Pass for about two months, from March 4 to April 27. During this period, a total of 467 passes were sold. On average, users visited four to five partner facilities, exploring various parts of Jung-gu.
The number of partner locations also increased rapidly during the pilot period. Starting with 19 partner facilities, the number grew to 40, marking a 52.5% increase and demonstrating high interest in the Jung-gu Tour Pass.
The officially launched Tour Pass is available in two types: the 'Basic Pass' and the 'Package Pass,' and is currently being sold to domestic customers. Sales to foreign visitors are scheduled to begin at the end of next month.
The Basic Pass (9,900 won) can be used at 37 partner locations, with some premium facilities (Namsan Cable Car, DDP Teteru Museum, Hey Tea Myeongdong branch) excluded. The Package Pass is sold for 19,900 won on Naver Smart Store and 21,900 won on other online platforms such as Yanolja, Coupang, and Yeogi Eottae. It includes premium benefits excluded from the Basic Pass and allows free use of all 40 partner locations.
Purchases can be made through major travel platforms such as Naver, Coupang, Yanolja, Yeogi Eottae, and KKday. Users can conveniently receive and use the mobile ticket via KakaoTalk or text message without installing a separate app.
With the introduction of the Tour Pass, the district aims to connect the entire Jung-gu area as a single tourism zone, moving beyond tourism centered on individual attractions. By encouraging tourists to freely move between various attractions and experiential spaces, the district seeks to increase the time visitors spend in Jung-gu and to revitalize the local economy.
District Mayor Kim Gilseong stated, "This will provide tourists with a convenient and enriching travel experience, while also revitalizing the local economy of Jung-gu."
