AI-Powered Suction Control
Battery Status and Lifespan Diagnostics
App Notifications for Device Abnormalities
LG Electronics has launched the "LG CordZero Objet Collection A9 AI," a cordless vacuum cleaner that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze customers' usage patterns and automatically adjust suction power.
LG Electronics noted that customers using cordless vacuum cleaners find it most inconvenient when the battery runs out before cleaning is finished. In response, the company announced on April 30 that it has developed an "AI Standard Suction Control" feature, which allows AI to analyze customers' usual cleaning patterns and, by considering cleaning time and remaining battery life, automatically adjust suction power so that cleaning can continue.
LG Electronics has enhanced the battery efficiency of the new product with an "AI Inverter," which combines its core component technology, the inverter, with AI. The inverter is a component that converts the battery's direct current (DC) power to alternating current (AC) to drive the motor, and it finely controls the motor's speed to adjust the vacuum cleaner's suction power.
Additionally, to reduce the inconvenience of customers having to visit a service center, LG Electronics has upgraded the product's diagnostic features, allowing users to check battery status, lifespan, and device abnormalities. When customers link the A9 AI with the LG ThinQ app, they receive notifications through the app if there is a problem with the battery or device. The A9 AI's self-diagnosis feature displays battery lifespan on the main unit's LCD screen, making it easy for customers to determine when to replace the battery and purchase a new one in advance if needed.

Convenience features have also been enhanced. The angle of the LED light on the vacuum cleaner's nozzle can be adjusted downward more precisely, allowing customers to thoroughly clean and inspect dark, low spaces such as under beds. The "Auto Stop & Go" feature, which stops operation if the vacuum is placed on the floor for more than three seconds and resumes when picked up, remains included. The A9 AI offers powerful suction of up to 320W and is among the lightest in its class at 2.54kg.
With a subscription, customers receive not only free after-sales service but also a disassembly and cleaning service every 12 months. Care specialists disassemble the collected product and remove internal dust and mold through air cleaning, steam management, and ultrasonic cleaning, while also checking performance. The A9 AI's shipping price is 1,690,000 KRW, and the monthly subscription fee is 43,900 KRW based on a six-year plan with 12-month interval maintenance.
This year, LG Electronics has diversified its cordless vacuum cleaner lineup so that customers can choose based on the suction power, weight, and features they need. In addition to the A9 AI, the lineup includes: LG CordZero Objet Collection A7 Core (available in two types: suction only, and suction with mopping), and LG CordZero A5.
Jung Kwangwoo, head of Living Solution Marketing at LG Electronics Korea Sales Division, said, "We will provide a new customer experience with cordless vacuum cleaners that reduce inconvenience through powerful AI core technology and AI that enhances user convenience."
