Sangju City Launches Full-Scale Cadastral Resurvey for 1,470 Parcels in Three Districts

Enhancing Property Rights Protection and Administrative Efficiency
Through the Establishment of a Digital Cadastral Map

Sangju City in Gyeongbuk is set to launch the '2025 Cadastral Resurvey Project' in earnest, aiming to resolve land boundary disputes and enhance administrative efficiency by building a digital cadastral map.

Sangju City Launches Full-Scale Cadastral Resurvey for 1,470 Parcels in Three Districts Sangju City Hall, Gyeongbuk.

This year, the city will begin with the Byeongseong and Namjeok districts, and from April 28, will commence cadastral surveying in the Gongseong Oksan district, with plans to complete the work by the end of August. The resurvey will cover a total of three districts, encompassing 1,470 parcels of land and an area of approximately 800,000 square meters.

For the Gongseong Oksan district, two resident briefing sessions were held last year at Oksan Elementary School and the Gongseong-myeon Administrative Welfare Center. The necessity of the project was also actively explained through individual visits. As a result, with the consent of more than two-thirds of landowners, surveying work became possible.

The cadastral resurvey project aims to correct discrepancies between the actual land use status and the registered cadastral records, convert paper cadastral maps to digital format, resolve boundary disputes between neighbors, and provide accurate land information.

Since 2012, Sangju City has completed cadastral resurvey projects for 23 districts, achieving tangible results such as reducing surveying costs and resolving conflicts among residents.

The city plans to continue expanding the scope of the project each year, with the goal of completing the modernization of cadastral information by 2030.

A city official stated, "Accurately determining land boundaries is key to protecting residents' property rights," and added, "We will continue to do our best to ensure the smooth progress of the project through ongoing communication with residents."
