Mungyeong City Promotes Itself as the Ideal Destination for Return-to-Farming and Rural Relocation at 'Y-FARM EXPO 2025' Mungyeong City, Gyeongbuk Province participated in the Y FARM EXPO Return-to-Farming and Rural Settlement Fair.

Under the slogan "A Gift-like Life Blooming Beneath Mungyeongsaejae, Cultivating Spring Again in Mungyeong," the city operated a consultation booth, providing mentoring and information on settlement policies for prospective return-to-farming and rural settlers.

Along with practical advice, the city also provided tailored information to help reduce potential trial and error during the settlement process.

At the fair, Mungyeong City showcased 13 types of outstanding local agricultural products, including Omija syrup, through tasting events to highlight their quality and competitiveness.

In addition, the city offered comprehensive consultations on agricultural management for Mungyeong’s specialty crops such as apples and omija, as well as guidance on crop selection, cultivation, and distribution for those starting agricultural businesses, actively promoting Mungyeong’s strengths as a settlement destination.

The city attracted interest from prospective settlers through practical support measures, including: support for housing such as nest houses and modular homes that allow for a one-year experience of rural life; customized settlement assistance covering initial farming and housing costs; and support for the cost of village invitation events for return-to-farming and rural households within one year of moving in.

Shin Hyun-guk, Mayor of Mungyeong, stated, "Mungyeong is not only a region favorable for farm income generation based on specialty crops, but also offers excellent accessibility to the Seoul metropolitan area thanks to the KTX line, as well as transportation conveniences such as free city bus service. We will take the lead in attracting urban residents and revitalizing rural communities through effective support measures."
