Price Hike for ShackBurger and Shakes
Wave of Hamburger Price Increases
Shake Shack, the hamburger brand operated by SPC Group, will raise the prices of some menu items starting April 30.
On April 29, Shake Shack announced on its official website that it was inevitably increasing the prices of certain items, including burgers, due to rising overall costs.
With this price increase, the ShackBurger will go up from 8,900 won to 9,200 won, and the hot dog will rise from 5,100 won to 5,200 won. The shake will increase by 100 won, from 6,800 won to 6,900 won.
Previously, Shake Shack also raised its prices in April last year.
Since the beginning of this year, major burger franchises such as Burger King, McDonald's, and Lotteria have successively raised their product prices. Burger King increased the price of its signature Whopper by 100 won, from 7,100 won to 7,200 won, in January. McDonald's Korea raised the prices of 20 menu items by 100 to 300 won on March 20. Lotteria increased the prices of 65 menu items by an average of 3.3% starting April 3. Shinsegae Food also raised the average price of its No Brand Burger menu by 2.3%. In addition, KFC raised the prices of some items, including chicken and burgers, by 100 to 300 won.
