Solving Local Issues through Citizen Participation
Implementing Practical, Everyday Policies
Mungyeong City in Gyeongbuk announced on April 29 that it held an appointment ceremony for the 10th Living Policy Participation Group at the mayor's reception room on April 25.
The Living Policy Participation Group is a citizen participation system operated by local governments and overseen by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. It allows local residents to propose ideas for policies or report inconveniences they experience in daily life, and plays a role in improving these issues.
Through this system, it has become an important channel for increasing the effectiveness of government policies and reflecting the voices of citizens.
The 10th group appointed this time consists of a total of six members, who will serve for two years from March 1, 2025, to February 28, 2027.
The group will collect various opinions on local issues by proposing practical, everyday policy ideas, promoting and monitoring government policies, and reflecting these opinions in policy as a form of "brainstorming in daily life."
Mungyeong City plans to expand the foundation for genuine participation so that this group can represent the voices of local residents and realize administration that citizens can truly feel in their daily lives.
Shin Hyun-guk, Mayor of Mungyeong, said, "Your activities, in which you view administration from the citizens' perspective and participate in policy, will greatly contribute to the development of city administration," and added, "I ask for your active participation and cooperation so that we can implement policies that citizens can truly relate to."
