Park Kangsu, Mayor of Mapo-gu, attended the "2025 Seoul-Type Moa Daycare Center On-site Common Parent Education" event held at the Seongsan 2-dong Community Center at 10:00 a.m. on April 29.
The Seoul-Type Moa Daycare Center is a childcare community model that promotes cooperation and mutual growth by sharing programs and spaces among nearby daycare centers. This year in Mapo-gu, five daycare centers?Gipeunsaem Youngjae, Jungdong, Dasom, Cavischool Yerang, and Grimatelier?were newly selected as participants in the community project.
The education session was conducted for 52 parents of children currently enrolled in these daycare centers.
The event began with congratulatory remarks from Park Kangsu, Mayor of Mapo-gu, and Baek Namhwan, Chairman of the Mapo-gu Council. This was followed by performances from children of Gipeunsaem Youngjae and Jungdong daycare centers, filling the venue with a warm and cheerful atmosphere.
The subsequent lecture, titled "Discovery! Children's Strengths, Growth! Family Play," was given by Park Hyunjung, Adjunct Professor at Gyeonggi University of Science and Technology. She introduced methods for discovering children's strengths and ways to enhance intimacy with children through play, which received a positive response from the parents.
Park Kangsu, Mayor of Mapo-gu, stated, "The first society our children encounter after their family is the daycare center," and added, "Together with the five newly selected daycare centers for the 2025 Moa Daycare Center Community Project, Mapo-gu will do its best to establish itself as a city that is ideal for raising children."
