SKT: "Full Responsibility for Damages with Just a SIM Protection Service Reservation"

SKT: "SIM Protection Service Offers the Same Effect as SIM Replacement"
Number of Subscribers Expected to Exceed 10 Million on the 29th

SKT: "Full Responsibility for Damages with Just a SIM Protection Service Reservation" Yonhap News

On April 29, SK Telecom, which experienced a hacking incident resulting in the leakage of customer information, announced, "If customers make a reservation to enroll in the SIM Protection Service, SK Telecom will take full responsibility in the event of any damages." The SIM Protection Service is a measure that has the same effect as replacing the SIM card.

An SKT representative stated, "To ensure smooth enrollment in the service, we have set up a separate reservation section for the SIM Protection Service starting from 5 p.m. on April 28, increasing daily processing capacity by approximately 50%. As of 3 p.m. on April 29, the number of enrollments in the SIM Protection Service has exceeded 9.5 million, and we expect it to surpass 10 million by the end of today."

SKT has significantly increased the processing capacity of the SIM Protection Service and revamped the user interface to make it easier to use, providing notifications for reservation submission, reservation protection service completion, and reservation enrollment completion. SKT stated, "We plan to further update the service within May so that it can also be used while roaming overseas."
