Cho Youngki, New Head of Game Industry Association: "Connection, Communication, and Cooperation"

On April 29, Cho held a press conference at COEX in Seoul. He stated, "I have taken office as president of the association with the trust and expectations of many, including our member companies," and added, "Along with excitement, I feel a heavy sense of responsibility, and I will sincerely and diligently fulfill my role with authenticity."

Cho identified connection, communication, and cooperation as the key directions for leading the association in the future.

First, regarding "connection," he explained that this means linking companies and talent, companies with other companies, and companies with global partners. Internally, this aims to promote job creation and build a healthy ecosystem for the game industry. Externally, it reflects his intention for the association to serve as a bridge so that domestic companies can strengthen their influence in the global market.

Next, under "communication," Cho emphasized his commitment to identifying and resolving common issues within the industry, and to expanding positive perceptions of games by fostering smooth dialogue and consensus among industry stakeholders, including related organizations and users.

"Cooperation" refers to establishing a more proactive structure for collaboration not only with government agencies and the National Assembly, but also with the media, academia, the legal community, and other associations. The goal is to ease various regulations related to the game industry and to take the lead in promoting the industry.

Cho said, "I will leverage the experience I have accumulated over a long period in various roles and industries to ensure that the association becomes an organization that contributes to the sustainable growth and development of Korea's game industry."
