Design Achievements Presented by Hannam University and Mokwon University Students
To Be Finalized in June and Utilized at the National Sports Festival and on SNS
On April 29, Daejeon City held an interim briefing session for the '2025 Kkumssi Family Sports Design Industry-Academia Collaboration Project' and unveiled sports-themed Kkumdori character design drafts created by students from the design departments of Hannam University and Mokwon University.
The characters revealed on this day are based on Daejeon City's official mascots, 'Kkumdori' and 'Kkumssi Family.' They feature costumes and poses that reflect the characteristics of each sports discipline, enhancing both dynamism and approachability.
The city plans to finalize the character designs at the final presentation in June, reflecting the feedback gathered during this interim session. Afterward, the characters will be actively used not only at major sporting events such as the National Sports Festival and community sports competitions, but also across various channels including SNS and online content.
Professor Lee Hyesu, who supervised the students, said, "It was especially meaningful that the students worked together toward a single goal for Daejeon City, going beyond the boundaries of their respective schools," adding, "We will strive to deliver even more polished results during the remaining period."
Jung Taeyoung, Director of Sports and Health at Daejeon City, stated, "The students' innovative and highly practical ideas were very impressive," and added, "I expect that the sports characters they have created will greatly enhance the value of Daejeon City's sports brand."
