Sales Reached 1.25 Trillion Won Last Year
Operating Profit Recorded at 11.7 Billion Won
McDonald's Korea has successfully returned to profitability after eight years. The company also achieved its highest-ever sales since entering the Korean market.
On April 29, McDonald's Korea announced that its sales last year reached 1.25 trillion won, up 11.8% from the previous year, marking three consecutive years of double-digit growth and setting a new record for highest annual sales. Including franchise stores, total sales amounted to 1.409 trillion won, an increase of 9.1% year-on-year, and the company set a new record for highest total sales for the fourth consecutive year.
Operating profit was 11.7 billion won, and net profit for the year was 115.3 billion won. After a prolonged period of sluggish performance, McDonald's Korea has managed to return to profitability for the first time in eight years since 2016.
McDonald's Korea cited several reasons for this improvement in performance: developing menus that reflect customer preferences and enhancing service quality; expanding sales through strategic openings and renovations of new stores; restructuring its asset portfolio; and improving internal processes to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
A representative from McDonald's Korea stated, "Our consistent investment in quality and service across all areas to meet and exceed customer expectations has led to these positive results," adding, "We will continue to prioritize customer-centric values and strive for sustainable growth from a mid- to long-term perspective."
