Promotion of Joint Industry-Academia Research and Internship Programs
Soongsil University Startup Technology Institute announced on April 30 that it has signed an industry-academia cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Artelling Co., Ltd., the lead company of the Korea Industrial Technology Promotion Association's 'AI Metaverse Convergence Technology Cluster (AI Metaverse Cluster)'.
Soongsil University Startup Technology Institute signed an industry-academia cooperation agreement with the Korea Industrial Technology Promotion Association AI Metaverse Convergence Technology Cluster. The signing ceremony was held at 4:00 p.m. on April 24 at Baird Hall, Soongsil University. The event was attended by Moon Yong, Vice President for Research and Industry-Academia Cooperation at Soongsil University; Kwak Wonjun, Director of the Startup Technology Institute; Lee Yongsik, Head of the Industry-Academia Cooperation Promotion Team; Kim Minsu, CEO of TM Bio Co., Ltd.; Kim Seonjung, CEO of Artelling Co., Ltd.; and Ko Younghun, Vice President of Kumho Petrochemical Co., Ltd.
The AI Metaverse Cluster is a project in which ten companies from various industries?including metaverse, safety, electric and renewable energy, chemical, and medical?participate to identify common research topics based on generative AI and to establish a system of mutual cooperation.
Through this agreement, Soongsil University Startup Technology Institute and the AI Metaverse Cluster have agreed to actively cooperate in a variety of areas, including: conducting joint research and development projects; developing technology exchange and research personnel training programs; jointly hosting academic seminars and workshops; and operating industry-academia linkage and internship programs.
Kwak, Director of the Startup Technology Institute at Soongsil University, stated, "We aim to expand our partnership by leveraging the expertise and resources of both organizations to promote support and cooperation in various areas, including research and development, human resource development, and technology exchange." He added, "We look forward to seeing even greater achievements in technology commercialization by Soongsil University Startup Technology Institute and the Korea Industrial Technology Promotion Association through future collaborations."
