A French Arts Troupe to Perform Inline Skating at Ansan Culture Square on May 3 and 4
Performance Exchange with Paris's Eastern District at the Ansan International Street Arts Festival
On April 29, the city of Ansan in Gyeonggi Province announced that an arts performance troupe from the eastern administrative district of Paris, France, will visit for a performance exchange during the 21st Ansan International Street Arts Festival, which will be held over three days from May 3 to 5 at Ansan Culture Square and its surrounding area.
The eastern administrative district of Paris is one of the leading communities in the field of culture and the arts. Previously, in November of last year, Ansan signed a letter of intent for exchange to promote friendship and cooperation between the two cities and has since worked to facilitate performance exchanges.
The troupe invited for this occasion is 'Suan Le Company', recommended by the eastern administrative district of Paris. The director, Suan Le, was the French champion in freestyle slalom skating in 2009.
At this festival, 'Suan Le Company' will present an inline skating duo performance titled 'Reflet' (Reflection). This is a hybrid performance that combines contemporary dance, hip-hop, and visual arts. The troupe is scheduled to perform at Ansan Culture Square, Zone H, at 4:30 p.m. on May 3 and at 2:00 p.m. on May 4.
Suan Le, the artistic director, said, "I hope this performance exchange will serve as an opportunity to invigorate international exchanges between Ansan and the eastern administrative district of Paris."
Lee Minguen, Mayor of Ansan, stated, "This performance exchange is the result of ongoing communication between the two cities, leading to tangible outcomes. I am pleased that we are able to invite an arts troupe from our partner city to Ansan's representative festival."
