Regarding Speculation on Recruiting Chung Sakyun:
"Are They Just Poking at What They Can't Have?"

At a Democratic Party countermeasures meeting held at the National Assembly in Yeouido on April 29, Jin said, "There are speculations that as former Prime Minister Lee prepares to run, he will form an anti-Lee Jaemyung coalition together with forces associated with rebellion," and delivered these remarks.

He added, "Just as you once said that you would not join hands with just anyone, I believe that someone who has served as a lawmaker, governor of South Jeolla Province, and prime minister, all as a member of the Democratic Party, would not do such a thing."

Jin also commented on speculation that the People Power Party is attempting to recruit former Prime Minister Chung Sakyun, harshly criticizing, "Isn't this just a spiteful attempt to poke at what they can't have?" He emphasized, "They are reportedly seeking a unified candidacy by grouping Han Ducksoo, Lee Nakyon, and Chung Sakyun together," adding, "This is an insult and a humiliation to former Speaker Chung Sakyun."

He further stated, "Former Speaker Chung would have flatly rejected even any contact from the People Power Party."

Jin asserted, "Ending rebellion and defending constitutional government are the spirit of the times for this presidential election," and added, "Although the forces of rebellion are using any means necessary to maintain their position, they will ultimately not escape the judgment of the people."

In conclusion, he said, "The Democratic Party will remain steadfast at the center and faithfully realize the spirit of the times by ending rebellion and defending constitutional government."
