Tree Planting Activity with Faculty, Students, and Parents at Sinbuk Elementary School
The Yeongam County Volunteer Center in South Jeolla Province (Director: Ha Hyesung) conducted a "School Revitalization Tree Planting Volunteer Activity" on April 28, with the participation of 36 students from Sinbuk Elementary School, as well as faculty members and parents, totaling about 50 people.
According to the center on April 29, this activity was organized after being selected for the Korea Central Volunteer Center’s sapling support grant program. The purpose was to improve the local educational environment and to promote a culture of practicing carbon neutrality.

Participants, including Sinbuk Elementary School students, planted 20 quince trees and 80 Schisandra chinensis trees provided by the Korea Central Volunteer Center in the school’s vegetable garden. Name tags and encouraging messages from the students were attached to the trees, making the activity even more meaningful.
Jia Jung, a fourth-grade student at Sinbuk Elementary School, said, "I think the school will become greener and more beautiful when the Schisandra chinensis tree I planted grows. I felt proud to participate in an activity that helps save the Earth."
Ha Hyesung, Director of the Volunteer Center, said, "It was a meaningful activity in which the children, who are the future of the region, planted trees and decorated the school, thereby nurturing the future of the community. We will continue to help the children take care of the trees they planted as they grow up."
