Kim Daesik: "Kwon Seongdong and Lee Jaemyung Are Also Chung-Ang University Alumni" Dismisses Alliance
"A Unified Team with Lee Junseok Would Have a Good Chance of Winning"

Kim Daesik, who serves as the chief of staff for the campaign of Hong Junpyo, the People Power Party presidential primary candidate, dismissed the possibility of a "Harvard alliance" between Acting President Han Ducksoo and Reform New Party presidential candidate Lee Junseok.
On April 28, during an appearance on YTN Radio's "News Fighting," Kim was asked about the possibility of an alliance between Han and Lee, who are both known to be alumni of Harvard University in the United States. He responded, "Lee Jaemyung, the Democratic Party candidate, and our party's floor leader Kwon Seongdong are also alumni of Chung-Ang University." He emphasized that while there is growing talk about the need for an "anti-Myeong alliance" against candidate Lee Jaemyung, he does not see any possibility of an alliance between Acting President Han and candidate Lee Junseok.
Regarding a potential unification between Hong and Lee Junseok, Kim stated, "If Hong becomes the final candidate, the unification with Lee could gain momentum very quickly," and added, "Among the four candidates, Hong has had the most conversations with Lee Junseok."
He continued, "According to any public opinion poll at the moment, Lee Junseok holds close to 10% support," and added, "I believe that if a team is formed through unification with Lee Junseok, there is a good chance of winning."

Acting President Han Ducksoo graduated from the Department of Economics at Seoul National University and earned both his master's and doctoral degrees in economics from Harvard University. Candidate Lee Junseok also double-majored in computer science and economics at Harvard University.
In August 2023, when Acting President Han visited the Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree venue in North Jeolla Province, a video of him telling foreign Scout members, "I'm a graduate of Harvard," went viral. When criticized for excessive self-promotion, Han explained, "One of the Scouts was wearing a T-shirt with 'Harvard' written on it, so I greeted him and said something like, 'Did you go to Harvard? We're alumni,' out of friendliness."
