Intensive Discussion on Securing Government Budget Allocations
and Key National Projects
Hamyang County in South Gyeongsang Province held a policy meeting at the county office's main conference room, inviting Congressman Shin Sungbum to discuss securing government budget allocations.
The meeting, held on April 28, was attended by over 50 participants, including County Governor Jin Byeongyeong, County Council Chair Kim Yuntaek, Provincial Assembly Members Kim Jaeung, Lee Chundeok, and Han Sanghyeon, as well as county council members and senior officials. They focused on discussing strategies to secure funding for national projects and key local issues.
In February and March, Hamyang County held two internal briefings on national and provincial funding, identifying a total of 70 new projects worth 470.4 billion KRW. Among these, the county actively requested funding for national projects, including the installation of a waste incineration facility in Hamyang, improvement of the Deogam and Deokjeon natural disaster risk zones, comprehensive flood management for the Daean district, and the establishment of a southern timber resource center.
Additionally, the county called for continued attention and efforts to ensure that key issues?such as the construction of the Daejeon-Hamyang-Namhae railway, the upgrade of the unconnected section of Local Road 1023 and the Guyang-Wolpyeong improvement project, the creation of a national industrial complex for East-West Harmony logistics infrastructure, and the bid to host the 2030 Hamyang Sansam Anti-Aging Expo?are reflected in higher-level government plans.
Congressman Shin Sungbum stated, "Through this meeting, I was able to gain a detailed understanding of Hamyang County's major projects. I will communicate more closely with the central government and do my utmost to secure national budget allocations for regional development."
Governor Jin Byeongyeong remarked, "The support of our local congressman is essential for the continued development of Hamyang. I ask that you pay careful attention to major projects that are directly linked to the development of western South Gyeongsang Province."
