Over 3,400 Safety Personnel to Be Deployed for Thorough Preparation from May 10 to June 1
Jungnang District (District Mayor Ryu Gyeonggi) conducted a safety inspection of the festival site ahead of the upcoming 17th Jungnang Seoul Rose Festival.
On April 28, District Mayor Ryu Gyeonggi personally walked around the main festival venue along the Jungnangcheon area, closely examining the preparations and safety measures in place.
The inspection covered a section of approximately 2.5 kilometers along the Jungnangcheon. Detailed checks were carried out on the growth status of roses in the Rose Tunnel and Jungnang Rose Park, as well as on various aspects of festival preparation in the Junghwa Sports Park and the Jungnangcheon-ro area, including ▲safety facilities, ▲traffic and parking conditions, ▲cleanliness and sanitation, ▲installation status of facilities, and ▲measures for price stability.
In particular, the district focused on ensuring "visitor safety," thoroughly inspecting every corner of the festival site. The period from May 10 to June 1 has been designated as the "safety management period," during which a total of 2,956 safety management personnel will be intensively deployed throughout the venue. Including personnel from related agencies such as the police and fire departments, approximately 3,400 people will be involved in safety management.
From before the festival begins until after it ends, the district plans to establish a thorough safety system to prevent accidents within the festival grounds and to meticulously manage visitor convenience and order.
Ryu Gyeonggi, Mayor of Jungnang District, stated, "The Jungnang Seoul Rose Festival is a signature event where both residents and visitors can come together to enjoy and feel a sense of pride," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure that everyone can enjoy the festival with peace of mind."
The 17th Jungnang Seoul Rose Festival, widely regarded as "the most beautiful festival in Seoul," will be held along the Jungnangcheon area from May 16 to 24.
The festival's main event, the "Grand Rose Festival," will take place at Junghwa Sports Park from May 16 to 18, and on May 24, the "Jungnang Artist Festival" will be held near Gyeomjaegyo.
This year's festival will reinterpret the 17-year history and inspiration of the rose festival through a variety of exhibitions and hands-on experiences. The "Rose Pop-up Exhibition Hall," which emphasizes the rose theme, will be in operation, and the "Jungnang Rose Cafe" will make its debut along the embankment of Jungnangcheon. In addition, a wide range of participatory events, performances, and diverse food options will be offered, providing visitors with special memories.
