Emphasizing Their Suitability to Face Lee Jaemyung through Media Interviews and Social Media
The four presidential primary candidates of the People Power Party launched an all-out campaign on the final day of voting for the party's second primary on April 28.
The second primary vote was held over two days, from the previous day until April 28, and the results will be announced on April 29. Unlike the first primary, which determined the top four candidates solely through a 100% public opinion poll, the second primary combines party member votes (50%) and public opinion polls (50%). As the weight of party member votes increased, the candidates focused on consolidating their support base.

On this day, Kim Moonsu and Hong Junpyo focused on economic-related schedules. Kim Moonsu announced his 'Top 5 Export Powerhouse' pledge at his campaign office in Yeouido, Seoul, which included a plan to promote a 'Comprehensive Investment Agreement Package Negotiation' to respond to the mutual tariff pressure from the Donald Trump administration in the United States.
Meanwhile, Hong Junpyo visited the Korea Federation of SMEs in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, where he listened to policy issues raised by Kim Ki-moon, the chairman of the federation, as well as representatives from SME organizations and business owners.
Ahn Cheolsoo and Han Donghoon were busy trying to win support from voters in the Chungcheong region.
On this day, Ahn Cheolsoo visited the Daejeon National Cemetery to pay respects at the grave of Corporal Chae, who died in the line of duty during a search for flood victims, and also honored the heroes who protected the West Sea. In terms of policy, he emphasized science and technology. Ahn Cheolsoo announced regional pledges to make Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungcheong the center of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, biotechnology, and aerospace, and to complete the Sejong administrative capital project.
Han Donghoon visited the Hyeonchungsa Shrine in Asan, South Chungcheong Province, and then announced a defense policy that included securing nuclear-powered submarines and nuclear potential, as well as establishing a new defense industry secretary in the presidential office. He also held a meeting with party members at the People Power Party's Daejeon city office and visited the Yukgeori Market in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, to meet with citizens.
Regarding the relocation of the administrative capital to Sejong, he stated, "If I become president, I will spend a significant amount of time working in Sejong," but added, "Ultimately, relocating the administrative capital requires constitutional amendment, so there will be broad discussions during the amendment process."

The four candidates encouraged active voting from their supporters through media and social networking services (SNS), while also asserting that they are the most qualified to face Lee Jaemyung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea.
During an appearance on a YouTube broadcast, Kim Moonsu was asked whether he believed he could finish in the top two of the party's primary and replied, "Winning first place will not be a problem," adding, "Whether I surpass 50% all at once will be the key point to watch tomorrow." He cited his greatest strength as being "fully prepared," stating, "I have been attacked a lot by the Democratic Party, so I am well prepared. That's why I have gained attention within the People Power Party."
Hong Junpyo appeared on the news and said, "I have been preparing to run the country for 30 years, but if I fail to win the hearts of the people and party members this time, I will retire from politics. I consider this my last chance." In a Facebook post on the same day, he wrote, "The Democratic Party is raising issues with the ruling party of an impeached administration nominating a presidential candidate," adding, "That is why I plan to frame this election as a contest between Hong Junpyo's country and Lee Jaemyung's country."
In a Facebook post, Han Donghoon quoted Martin Luther King Jr.'s 'I Have a Dream' speech, writing, "Some candidates in our party have asked the people to help fulfill their lifelong dream of becoming president, but I have no dream of my own. I only have your dreams." He continued, "I will risk my life to fight and win for the dream that each and every one of you can be happy," and emphasized, "Please let me fight with all my might and win so that I can help realize your dreams."
Ahn Cheolsoo also posted on Facebook under the title 'The candidate Lee Jaemyung is eagerly waiting for. Prosecutor bulletproofing is not acceptable,' appealing, "We must nominate a candidate who will never be intimidated by Lee Jaemyung. Please choose Ahn Cheolsoo so we can win." He continued, "Although Kim Moonsu, Han Donghoon, and Hong Junpyo are all highly capable individuals, their actions during the periods of martial law and impeachment went against common sense, the rule of law, and constitutional order," and argued, "In terms of morality, expertise, social contribution, and experience as chair of the presidential transition committee, I have the advantage over Lee Jaemyung, as I am a scientist and business leader who looks to the future, not a lawyer."
