The purpose of this agreement is to enable job seekers with diverse backgrounds in the region to access employment, welfare, and mental health and psychological counseling services in one place at the Employment Welfare Plus Center. It also aims to enhance the connectivity of services through inter-agency cooperation and to provide customized services for job seekers.
Established in 2016, the Gimhae Employment Welfare Plus Center integrates the existing Employment Center with the Gimhae City Job Center, welfare support departments, Gimhae Women's New Employment Center, Gimhae Eastern Women's New Employment Center, and the Middle-aged Tomorrow Center, providing mutually linked employment and welfare services.
After the signing ceremony, four new organizations joined the Gimhae Employment Welfare Plus Center: the Gimhae Senior Job Creation Support Center, Gyeongnam Hana Center, Gimhae Mental Health Welfare Center, and the Korea Transcendence Counseling Education Association. In addition, the disability counseling booth, which previously operated only as a separate counseling room, has been relocated to the integrated service desk for the newly joined institutions, providing comprehensive support services for vulnerable groups in employment.
In particular, the Gyeongnam Hana Center, which is joining for the first time among the ten Employment Welfare Plus Centers in Gyeongnam, will be based in Gimhae and plans to operate various collaborative projects for North Korean defectors together with the Gimhae Employment Center.
The inclusion of the Senior Job Creation Support Center will also strengthen employment services for middle-aged and older adults. By integrating mental health and psychological counseling services in one location, this is expected to become a new collaborative model for employment services that addresses the complex difficulties faced by vulnerable groups.
The operating hours and locations of the dedicated service desks for the newly joined organizations can be found on the website of the Gimhae Employment Welfare Plus Center.
Kwon Kuhyung, head of the Yangsan Branch, stated, "Through this agreement, the Employment Welfare Plus Center will be reborn as a more comprehensive and integrated service space. We will continue to discover and promote a variety of specialized services tailored to the characteristics of the region through collaboration with local governments and job-related agencies."
