The Chungnam Provincial Autonomous Police Committee announced on April 28 that it held its 82nd regular meeting in the conference room of the provincial government annex and deliberated and approved a customized public safety policy to be implemented for Family Month in May.

During the meeting, the committee decided to implement proactive traffic management measures to prevent traffic congestion and accidents by deploying police forces intensively around major temples and congested intersections in the province, in anticipation of an increase in temple visitors ahead of Buddha's Birthday.

In addition, to proactively respond to addictive crimes such as cyber gambling that threaten the healthy development of youth, the committee decided to actively carry out educational and promotional activities in connection with youth guidance and protection activities during Family Month and Youth Month.

The committee also plans to actively promote youth protection and prevention activities by strengthening information sharing and cooperation with relevant organizations and groups, including education support offices, schools, local governments, and youth environment monitoring teams.

Furthermore, the committee approved the operation of a family empathy and happiness-seeking couple camp for 30 families and 105 participants this year. The camp will offer a variety of programs, including couple and child counseling, individual and group counseling, education on the prevention of domestic violence and building healthy families, emotional healing through art activities, and making family gifts.

Lee Jongwon, Chairperson of the Provincial Autonomous Police Committee, stated, "The purpose of the autonomous police system is to provide customized public safety services for residents, and protecting the socially vulnerable is our core mission." He added, "We will continue to strengthen cooperation with related agencies such as the Provincial Police Agency and the Provincial Office of Education to prevent crimes against the socially vulnerable and minimize damage."
