The Y-shaped suspension bridge, which opened in September last year, was constructed as part of the second phase of Gyeonggi Province's Regional Balanced Development Project. It has continued to attract visitors to the Hantangang Ecological Landscape Complex, the Garamnuri Observatory, and Bidulginang Falls. Based on such successful cases, Gyeonggi Province organized this review meeting to promote the sustainable development of the Hantangang River Basin.

The "Hantangang River Basin Comprehensive Development" project, which will be implemented from 2024 to 2027, has a total budget of 43.8 billion KRW and aims to expand major geological attractions and tourism infrastructure in Pocheon City and Yeoncheon County. Key projects include the creation of the Pocheon Hantangang Media Art Park, the establishment of theme-based living convenience infrastructure, the development of the Hantangang Performance Camping Culture and Leisure Complex, the creation of the Yeoncheon Jaein Falls Geological Ecological Park, and the establishment of the Hantangang Columnar Jointing Trail as a themed hub. In addition, efforts are underway to implement UNESCO recommendations and improve the exploration environment through the maintenance and operation of the Hantangang Global Geopark.

Gyeonggi Province plans to use this review meeting as an opportunity to manage the Hantangang River Basin Comprehensive Development Project even more systematically in the future. In addition, the province will work closely with related organizations such as Pocheon City and Yeoncheon County to establish region-specific development plans and will continue to discover tourism and cultural content that highlights the unique characteristics of each area, supporting the Hantangang River Basin in becoming a world-renowned tourist destination.

Hyun Byungcheon, Planning and Budget Officer of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "The Hantangang River Basin is a precious asset with a pristine natural environment and geological value. Gyeonggi Province will do its utmost, together with Pocheon City and Yeoncheon County, to promote balanced development and sustainable tourism. We will promptly resolve any issues that arise during project implementation and actively seek out new business opportunities to ensure that the Hantangang River Basin can become a leading tourist destination in Korea."
