People Power Party Criticizes Lee Jaemyung's Acceptance Speech
Democratic Party Urges People Power Party to Break Away from Yoon One-Pole System
On April 28, the Democratic Party of Korea strongly criticized the People Power Party's remarks about a "one-pole system" in response to the selection of Lee Jae-myung as the presidential candidate, urging them to "stop their ritual of curses."
Han Minsoo, spokesperson for the Democratic Party, said in a briefing that day, "Kwon Youngse, interim leader of the People Power Party, and Shin Dongwook, chief spokesperson, have been competing to heap curses on the Democratic Party's presidential candidate, Lee Jae-myung."
Spokesperson Han stated, "The People Power Party is trying to turn the presidential election into a ritual of curses, not a festival of the people's will." He continued, "The People Power Party has no vision for Korea or policies for the people. Instead, they are simply inciting fear about the opposing party's candidate in an attempt to muddy the presidential election. Is the People Power Party a virus party contaminating Korea?"
He further emphasized, "The overwhelming support from party members and the public for candidate Lee Jae-myung reflects the people's desire to end the rebellion caused by former President Yoon Suk-yeol and the People Power Party." He added, "It is absurd to disparage the Democratic Party's 'one team' by talking about a one-pole dictatorship. What united the Democratic Party was the rebellion forces of Yoon Suk-yeol and the People Power Party."

Spokesperson Han warned, "The Democratic Party will unite firmly with candidate Lee Jae-myung to end the rebellion," and added, "It is the People Power Party that must break away from the Yoon Suk-yeol one-pole system and sever its one-team relationship with Yoon Suk-yeol."
Earlier, Shin Dongwook, chief spokesperson for the People Power Party, criticized in a commentary that day, "Before and after the 'Lee Jae-myung coronation ceremony,' the Democratic Party remains under the 'Lee Jae-myung one-pole system.'" Shin said, "Even now, they must stop their endless 'deception of the people' and 'playing the victim,' and first show genuine reflection and responsibility to the public."
He also pointed out, "Candidate Lee is once again mentioning 'rebellion' and 'coup,' indulging in extreme 'victim cosplay.' The acceptance speech delivered at the presidential candidate event yesterday was nothing more than a lengthy 'self-justification' that incited national division and sought to cover up his own responsibilities."
He evaluated, "Although he mentioned 'unity' 14 times and 'hope' 13 times, what was actually revealed throughout the speech was only the language of extreme division, endlessly splitting the people and branding opponents as 'rebellion forces.'"
