Gwangju Office of Education Launches Teacher Healing Program

Launch of the "Warmhearted Mind Growth Class"
Monthly Training Sessions for Psychological and Emotional Recovery
Supporting Work-Life Balance for Teachers through Empathy and Comfort

Based on the belief that education is only complete when teachers' well-being is also cared for, the Gwangju Office of Education has created an opportunity for teachers' psychological and emotional recovery.

On April 28, the Gwangju Office of Education held the first program of the "Warmhearted Mind Growth Class" at the Teacher Growth Maru, and announced that it will continue to offer a variety of training sessions to help teachers achieve work-life balance through December.

On the 28th, the Gwangju Office of Education held the first program of the "Warmhearted Mind Growth Class," titled "Soothing the Mind with Picture Books," at the Teacher Growth Maru. Participants reflected on their inner emotions through over 90 types of picture books available at the Teacher Growth Maru and shared a time of empathy and comfort with fellow teachers. The opening session, "Soothing the Mind with Picture Books," was attended by 25 teachers who reflected on their emotions and shared comfort with colleagues through more than 90 picture books. Joo Eunhee, vice principal of Gwangju Gwangcheon Elementary School Affiliated Kindergarten, said, "I felt at ease as I reflected on feelings that had been buried in my daily life."

Going forward, the Office of Education plans to continue offering small but meaningful programs each month, such as color psychology, conversations over tea and poetry, and warm communication techniques.

Superintendent Lee Jeongseon said, "We will continue to provide opportunities for empathy and healing so that teachers can take care of themselves."
