Special Lecture for 300 Students and Parents at District Main Auditorium on May 15, 7 p.m.
Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Research Officer Invited
Latest Admissions Trends and Application Strategies to Be Explained
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyungho) will hold the "2025 University Entrance Advanced Strategy Special Lecture" on May 15 in the main auditorium on the 5th floor of the newly established Gwangjin-gu Integrated Government Building.
Since the beginning of the 8th popularly elected administration, the district has doubled its education expense subsidies from 4 billion won to 8 billion won. In July last year, the district established the Department of Culture and Education to strengthen educational competitiveness and improve the quality of public education.
Additionally, the district formed a dedicated team to provide systematic support for university admissions, offering step-by-step assistance from career exploration to admissions education and university entrance exams. Thanks to these educational policies, a student from Gwangjin-gu achieved a perfect score on the College Scholastic Ability Test last year. This was the only case among all general high schools nationwide.
This special lecture has also been organized as part of a customized career and university admissions program. For the 2026 university entrance advanced strategy curriculum, a research officer from the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education has been invited.
The seminar will take place on May 15 from 7:00 p.m. for 2 hours and 30 minutes. Over a period of 100 minutes, the seminar will cover the latest university entrance trends, strategies for success by admissions type, preparation for both academic and comprehensive student records-based admissions, and practical interview preparation. After the seminar, a Q&A session will be held to address questions from students and parents attending in person.
The event is open to 300 students and parents, with registration on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications can be submitted via the Gwangjin-gu Office website from April 25 to May 12. For more details, please contact the Education Support Division of the Gwangjin-gu Office.
Kim Kyungho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, stated, "I understand that there are many concerns regarding the changing university admissions environment. I hope this lecture will provide practical help in developing a successful university entrance strategy," and added, "We will continue to offer step-by-step programs for career and university admissions, doing our best to establish Gwangjin-gu as a leading city for quality education."
In addition, the district is committed to providing customized educational services such as operating a career and job experience support center, offering face-to-face admissions consulting, providing online mentoring by university students, and running a parent academy.
